She Rested draws on the mythic journey of Inanna, one of humanity’s oldest stories of descent and transformation, to explore the raw, often unspoken metamorphosis of becoming a mother.
This performance ritual reveals deeply personal taboos of motherhood, at once contemporary and ancient. She Rested cracks open a space of reckoning, rest, and reverence for anyone who has given or received familial care.
She Rested is written, performed and sung by Aimée Falzon, with video installation by artist Eddie Abd and costumes by Katy B Plummer. Dramaturgy by Dr. Jessica Olivieri and S.Shakthidharan.
